Scholarship Information
Thanks for your interest in applying for a scholarship to attend the 2008 National Conference for Media Reform. Unfortunately, we are no longer accepting applications. The scholarship application deadline was March 31, 2008.
We received over 250 applications and we expect to award scholarships to over a hundred dedicated activists from under-represented constituencies. Scholarship and registration fee waiver awards will be announced to applicants by April 30, 2008.

Selection Process and Criteria:
Scholarship applications will be reviewed by our Outreach Committee, which is staffed by six activists and media policy advocates. The committee will select recipients of scholarship awards based on the following criteria:
- Financial need for scholarship
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to media reform activism or policy making
- Demonstrated commitment to mobilizing media reform activism in your community or organization
- Membership in a community traditionally under-represented in media policy work (in particular: people of color, young people and grassroots organizers)
- Willingness to share in the cost of attendance for the conference as financial circumstances allow and willingness to consider modest travel options that will minimize costs and help stretch the overall scholarship pool. (i.e.,- paying for a portion of the costs or seeking other support to subsidize some portion of your expenses and staying in shared accommodations).
