The debate over copyright filters takes place at the contentious intersection of Net Neutrality and digital copyrights. Some in the content industry would like Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to automatically filter their networks to look for copyright infringements. Net Neutrality advocates want an ISP’s traffic to remain neutral and free of discrimination. Voicing their opinions, too, are independent creators and users of content who use the open Internet as their preferred method of distribution, in direct competition with video and online services offered by broadband ISPs. This panel will explore each perspective with a lively discussion and audience participation.
