Date: Friday, June 6th
Time: 3:30pm to 5:00pm
Room: 205 AB
Track: Media and Democracy: The Next Frontier
Session Type: panel

Do you know your Napster from your Pandora? And if so, do you know whether your digital dollars are trickling down to the musicians that you love? In this workshop, musicians, technologists and legal experts will survey nearly a dozen digital music services and describe how they work, how consumers can access them, and how (or if) musicians are compensated through each service. The presentation will include an interactive, Web-based tour, as well as a discussion about how these new technologies are changing the music industry structure for musicians and music fans. Come with your questions and share your experiences.
