Alexandra Russell

Alexandra Russell is the program director at Free Press, a national nonprofit organization working to reform the media. Prior to joining Free Press, Alex served as foundation director and political director of the Barbara Lee Family Foundation & Lee Family Office and as director of Mass Voters for Fair Elections. Alex has run grassroots environmental campaigns with the Public Interest Research Groups (PIRGs) in Seattle, Wash., and Washington, D.C. She earned her master’s degree in theological studies with a focus on social and feminist ethics from Boston University. Alex serves as a founding board member of West Side Arts, MindWing and Emerge Massachusetts.
