John Trasviña
John Trasviña is president and general counsel of MALDEF, the Mexican American Legal Defense & Educational Fund. MALDEF serves as the law firm for the Latino community, litigating, advocating and developing Latino leadership and has offices in Los Angeles, San Antonio, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Atlanta and Sacramento. Prior to being appointed MALDEF president in 2006, Trasviña was a member of the Clinton administration and headed the federal government's only office on immigrant civil rights. He also taught immigration law at Stanford Law School. He is a graduate of Harvard University and Stanford Law School.
