Frannie Wellings

Frannie Wellings is a Legislative Assistant to Senator Byron Dorgan (D-ND). She advises the Senator on issues before the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, including communications, consumer protection, and transportation issues. She also handles his work on the Subcommittee on Interstate Commerce, Trade and Tourism. Prior to her work with Senator Dorgan, Frannie was the Associate Policy Director for Free Press, a national, nonpartisan organization working to promote diverse and independent media ownership, strong public media, and universal access to communications. She previously spent two years as a Fellow at the Electronic Privacy Information Center and as director of the Public Voice project. She completed a Master of Arts degree at the University of Pennsylvania Annenberg School and a Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University's Barrett Honors College where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.
