Collactive: Getting Started

How to Get Started:

If you have already downloaded the Collactive Web Assistant, then you are already half-way there. After restarting your Web browser, you will notice a small blue icon in the bottom right corner of your Web browser. If you click on the icon, you can access your online accounts and alerts.

To begin, click on "My Accounts" to set up your personal accounts on popular social networking sites. By setting up these accounts ahead of time, it will make receiving alerts and taking action much easier. Remember: Your account information is saved on your personal computer, not by Free Press.

From this icon, you will also be able to find the latest actions sent by Free Press.

What to Expect:

Whenever there is an urgent action to take, a small box will appear from the icon on your Web browser with an "Act Now" link.

When you click on the link, it will take you to an action page -- likely on YouTube, New York Times, The Nation, or another news outlet's Web site -- wrapped in a Free Press Frame. You will either see a large yellow "Take Action" link or be given written instructions on how to act. When you click on that link, the Web Assistant will take over and led you through easy step-by-step instructions on how to promote the Web content.

When you are finished be sure to click the link "Send to Friends."
