Google Will Protect Users' Identity from Viacom — This Time

Google has won a small victory for the privacy of its users by negotiating a deal with Viacom. But the broader privacy issue raised by Viacom’s subpoena remains open. And Google hasn’t really confronted it. If it continues to assemble so much data about so many people, it will become an ever-more attractive target for lawsuits and investigations.
