As Newspapers Cut Costs, a Thinning of the Guard Among Albany's Press Corps

Inside the State Capitol in Albany, N.Y., the press quarters were once so cramped that desks were designated by special committee. Now there are just about as many vacant desks as occupied ones. In less than two years, five newspapers have left the building.
