Future of Newspapers: Newspapers Founder, but Civic Journalism May Survive

There is a core audience for real news, but its going to take time to see whether new media models can grow to fill the reporting gap that's been created by the collapse of print. But the newspaper isn't dead just yet. About 34 million papers are sold or delivered every weekday (and more on the weekend), and ad revenue in 2008 was $38 billion nationwide.
