Local Radio Takes a Star Turn in NYT

As big companies have gobbled up radio stations in cities and towns across the United States, radio has lost its community identity. With more Low Power FM stations, local music, news, entertainment and emergency services -- the fabric of communities -- can be restored to the airwaves.
