Californians are concerned about the spread of online misinformation and feel they do not have enough sources of independent news to make informed voting decisions.
Free Press’ nationwide poll also found that 76% of respondents are concerned that they’re reading disinformation online about the presidential election.
The comprehensive survey of 3,000 Americans shows that people believe the current media system is failing to meet the needs of a functioning democracy.
“The [FCC] is protecting millions of hard-working families from bill shock that would force many to curtail or drop important broadband and wireless services,” said Free Press Senior Advisor S. Derek Turner.
