COLLEGE STATION — The fight for Net Neutrality is coming to Texas. On Tues., Oct. 21, FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai will convene a forum on the issue at Texas A&M University in College Station. Net Neutrality supporters will rally right before the event to stand up for strong open Internet protections.

For the last few months, Free Press has pushed the FCC to host hearings on Chairman Tom Wheeler’s Internet rules; as of now this event is the only one of its kind on the calendar. Pai, who opposes Net Neutrality protections, is at least willing to hear from the public.

Free Press is working with local allies to ensure that area residents have the opportunity to speak out before and during the forum. Staff members from Free Press, the Center for Media Justice and Common Cause will be available on site for interviews.

Where: Outside Hagler Auditorium, Annenberg Presidential Conference Center, 4347 TAMU, 1002 George Bush Drive W, Texas A&M, College Station
Note: The rally will be held prior to the commissioner’s 10 a.m. forum inside Hagler Auditorium.
