In response to the announcement of the The Reforming Airwaves by Developing Incentives and Opportunistic Sharing (RADIOS) Act, Free Press Policy Counsel M. Chris Riley made the following statement:
“The RADIOS Act articulates a comprehensive, data-driven vision for efficient use of one of our most valuable national resources, the public airwaves. The studies it proposes will greatly advance our awareness of the opportunities and challenges of spectrum. Its balanced policy approach – toward licensed and unlicensed usage models, and toward exclusive and shared occupancy – will help promote innovation and growth, and will help to ensure that the public spectrum is used in ways that promote the public interest. This legislation won’t solve all the problems that plague the wireless broadband market – but if passed and implemented properly, it would help.”
“We thank Senators Kerry and Snowe for their work on this legislation.”
