Free Press Statement on Court Decision to Stay AT&T/T-Mobile Case
WASHINGTON – On Monday, AT&T and the Department of Justice jointly requested to stay further court proceedings on the AT&T-T-Mobile merger, which was granted by the court.
Free Press Research Director S. Derek Turner made the following statement:
"The court was rightly skeptical about AT&T’s procedural games, and now it appears that AT&T is finally beginning to see the obvious -- this deal is dead, and nothing can save it. The best thing for AT&T,T-Mobile and all consumers is for this merger to be tossed in the dustbin of history where it belongs."
