WASHINGTON — On Tues., Oct. 17, a coalition of digital- and civil-rights advocates will hold an online briefing to discuss the Federal Communications Commission’s plan to restore Title II oversight of the broadband industry.

As the agency is set to vote on a rule-making procedure this Thursday, the usual suspects representing the likes of AT&T, Comcast and Verizon are flooding the media with disinformation about Net Neutrality and the regulatory framework needed for the FCC to protect internet users from ISP abuses.

Hear stories from people who have been fighting for decades to ensure that the internet is open and affordable to everyone. Participants will talk about their plans for restoring the Open Internet Order that the Trump FCC stripped away in 2017, and will debunk the myths being spread by the broadband industry and its proxies.

WHAT: Restoring Title II Oversight of the Broadband Industry
WHEN: Tues., Oct. 17, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon ET
WHERE: Online via a Zoom webinar
WHO: Brief opening comments from Free Press’ Timothy Karr followed by a discussion and questions and answers with Free Press Co-CEO Jessica J. González, Fight for the Future Director Evan Greer and Public Knowledge President and CEO Chris Lewis

To RSVP for the briefing, follow this link and fill out the form. You will be provided with information to join the discussion.
