At a press conference on Capitol Hill tomorrow, the SavetheInternet.com Coalition will deliver more than 1 million petitions and letters from average Americans concerned about Internet freedom. The petitions represent rising public pressure on Congress to pass meaningful protections for Network Neutrality as part of any major telecommunications legislation.
The SavetheInternet.com Coalition is a broad, grassroots effort that has brought together more than 750 groups, including Free Press, MoveOn.org, the Christian Coalition, Consumers Union, Common Cause, the National Religious Broadcasters, the Service Employees International Union, True Majority, the American Library Association and the American Civil Liberties Union. Other supporters of meaningful Net Neutrality legislation include AARP, the League of Women Voters, and numerous Internet companies and small businesses.
